Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Avra Press, LLC (“Avra Press,” “we,” or “us”) is an independent literary publisher. This policy explains what personal information we collect through avrapress.com and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect very little, so this policy is short.
In brief
- This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
- We collect personal information only when you give it to us: when you email us or submit your work.
- We never sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- We read submissions in confidence and delete them after we respond, unless we ask to see more or offer to publish.
Information we collect
- When you email us: your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- When you submit your work: your name, contact details, query letter, synopsis, sample pages, and bio, through our submission form. Your bio may describe your background or identity. That is always optional, and you decide what to share.
- When you visit the website: like any website, ours receives the technical information needed to deliver pages to you, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for. We have not turned on visitor logging, and we don't use this information to identify you.
How we use it
- To answer your messages.
- To consider your submission, contact you about it, and, if we offer to publish your work, prepare a contract.
- To keep the website running and secure.
- To meet our legal obligations and protect our rights.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or similar tracking tools. Our fonts are served from our own site, so reading a page does not send information to a font company. The submission form services we link to are run by other companies and have their own privacy policies, and they may use cookies when you visit them.
Because we don't track visitors across websites, there is nothing for a browser's “Do Not Track” setting to turn off, and the site behaves the same either way.
How we share it
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run Avra Press: website hosting (Amazon Web Services), email, and our submission form service. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Avra Press, our authors, or others.
- If Avra Press is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of its business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
- With your permission.
Submissions
We read submissions in confidence. We delete submission materials after we respond, except when we ask to read the full manuscript or offer to publish, in which case we keep them while we work together. We may keep a short record of your name, your title, and our reply so we can answer follow-up questions.
How long we keep it
- Emails: as long as we need to respond and keep a reasonable record of our correspondence.
- Submissions: as described above.
Your choices
- You can ask us what personal information we have about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it, by emailing hello@avrapress.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm that a request really comes from you.
- Depending on where you live, such as California, the European Union, or the United Kingdom, the law may give you more rights over your information. We honor these requests wherever you live.
If you're outside the United States
Avra Press is based in the United States, and our service providers store information in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we use your information to respond to you and consider your submission because you asked us to. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. The website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and the files that make up the site are stored encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
